Well, I spent today at PetSmart, trying to do the "educate" thing.

It is a rather frustrating experience, there are lots of folks that have ideas about ferrets that are not true.

If the shelter was for dogs or cats or even the wild jungle exotics, there would be grants, more volunteers. More respect.

Poor ferrets are the under dogs in the pet world.

Not one adoption application. Right now we have 47 ferrets in the shelter. 15 are between the age of 1 and 3, 17 are between 4 and 5, the oldie but goodies (6 and up) number 10. 5 fall in the under 1 year group.

Of the 47, 8 need adrenal surgery and or lupron, 3 are waiting for other surgeries. One is a botched spay, one is a spleen removal, and one is a tumor on the front paw.

You can always tell a big election coming up. Turn ins go way up, and donations become non exsistant.

But you keep on trying any how.

I guess I did remember what I wrote, hmm. Maybe the memory is better than I thought.
