Ferrets Unlimited Ferret Shelter

Quick update

We are drowning in ferrets. We have 14 that need Lupron, Surgery, Melatonin Implants. In a span of a month - June 25 through July 20, we spent $3500 in vet bills alone (I just tallied up all of the vet bills - keeping track of the credits and debits). Not even going into things like food, distemper, cleaning supplies, and litter, as well as the cost of running the air conditioner in the areas where the ferrets are. (Hey, I sweat my buns off - all though you can't tell - but the ferrets stay cool and comfortable)

Our numbers jumped to 67, thanks to Lori Sies, Ferrets Dream House in Cincinnati, she placed 14 of our lost souls. Since that day a week ago, I do believe, we have had 9 come in. Nine today.

We are in the sixties again. I will get them up on the website by the end of the weekend.

Five came in ten days ago, where one of the little boys needed surgery ($300) to remove a lump on his side. We auctioned off the right to name the group, and it sold for $135.00.

I also sold my ferret tapestry throw for $75. (That gave us $210 total to pay the vet.)

I do not own any other item worth selling. That includes my car, washing machine, and TV. The TV is 12 years, probably older, and it was given to us.

With all that is going on in the world, these problems seem small, but to the fur angels here, they are large. The kids waiting for surgery so they can go to homes, it seems like mountains.

There are many things that are dreams for the shelter. New cages, new flooring, skip the flooring, the building on the corner is for sale, for only $105,000, and with another oh $30,000 can be revamped, brought up to date, and make one heck of a shelter, complete with a store to sell gift items and such to support the shelter. (Hey, it doesn't hurt to dream, and I play the lottery twice a month!! If I win, guess what I am going to do?? LOL!)

Fundraising is difficult now. Everyone needs help.

We have a new shopping item. The shelter receives 40% of your purchase, and it is delivered to your door!!

To browse just click on: Gift shopping made easy and type in Ferret Unlimited's 6-digit Code Number, which is: 513345.

LOTS of great gifts for holidays, birthdays, or just because!!

There isn't going to be a show. No one wants to help.

It broke my heart to read about you auctioning your things to help fuzzies. In this very real world where choices must be made, I wonder if you struggle with choosing to rehab older sick ferrets versus focusing on finding homes for the likley adoptees. I will be praying for you and you have inspired me to get involved with a local shelter.
