Ferrets Unlimited Ferret Shelter

Meet Lil' Miss Mystery - left on the front lawn this AM

Thought you would all like to see this sweet little girl.

She loves her duck soup, and put up with me giving her a bath, pulling the fleas off her (I am surprised she has blood left), getting Revolution put on her, and just generally handled and cuddled.

She is now sleeping in a warm sleep sack with a full belly of warm duck soup. Why, just someone please tell me why would anyone just leave this little girl in a cage that she could have gotten out of on the front lawn, knowing that is is cold enough to freeze water? It doesn't matter you put a cover over the cage, that doesn't keep them warm. It may cut down the breeze, but it is still could and if we weren't home, or hubby had not have gone to work, she would have been out there long enough to freeze to death.

To anyone else that may think of leaving an animal like this, please, knock on the door and run if you are too embarrassed to face the shelter mom or dad. Pick up a phone and call. Borrow a cell phone for the ride over, and when you are a block away, call and say, "I couldn't face this, look on your porch."

SHE COULD HAVE DIED. SHE COULD HAVE FROZEN TO DEATH.

She is such a little sweet doll. How could you have been so heartless? How could you have been so non thinking? What were you thinking? Where you thinking?

The more I do shelter work, the more I wonder how long it is going to be before mankind blows himself into extinction.

Oh good lord! I'm so thankful that she made it to you, but I can't fathom why someone would leave her without calling or knocking. Perhaps they tried the humane society and was turned away? There is just no excuse for leaving a ferret like that :(
