Ferrets Unlimited Ferret Shelter

Why didn't you just knock on the door?????

This morning is not the way for anyone to start a day, especially a shelter operator. A little background of the previous 12 hours.

I was up 90% of the night printing stuff that needs to go out in the mail for our paver fund raiser, so mind you, all the lights are on, and the poor dog is up keeping me company as I dutifully pull paper jams, and refill the paper while the little printer cranks out 1,000 copies of a letter.

Hubby gets up, comes down, we have coffee. He leaves, me, I am going to take a shower to wake up.

Next thing I know there is banging on the front door. What did he forget I think. I unlock the door, and he goes, look what I found in the front yard.

There was a cage with a blanket thrown over it. In the cage was a little, itty, bitty female sable ferret, looking at her teeth about 4 years old, with a litter box, old hammie, and cheerios. The lid on the cage lifted very easily, so I have no idea if she had a cage mate.

I spent the last 45 minutes looking around the yard, in my pj's, wrapped in a robe, with an 8 year old leather coat on.

I am worried there was a cage mate. It is cold here, freezing. If there is a cage mate, there is little hope for it. I have left the cage open with a blanket, just in case.

Coward. All you had to do was knock on the door. I wouldn't have turned her away. What would have happened if no one was home?????

The poor ferret, did you keep her as a pet or put her up for adoption? I would of kept it, because I love ferrets and I am going to adopt one from Ferrets Unlimited Shelter. Sumi has caught my eye!
