America will not forget, I will not forget America's Heroes

What can I do? - Is there more I can do?   Concerns from an American Mom.

September 11, 2001.  A day that changed America forever.  A day that change our lives, sense of security, our existence.

We were given martyrs that day.  Men, woman, and children.  People who became martyrs and heroes just by being the American working public.  The policemen, firemen, secretaries, stock brokers, presidents of companies, the people who ran the mail rooms, and many, many others.

We also learned the fabric of our country.  What we are made of.  We saw America attacked by terrorist, we rallied.  We gathered supplies, we gave blood, we flew flags.  We worked together to help one another, the way IT SHOULD ALWAYS BE.

We put aside our differences and worked toward a greater cause, helping others.

America cannot let this fade into the past, let it become just another thing that happened.  We cannot afford to lose that sense of patriotism and brotherhood that we have discovered.

It is essential that we keep it alive, don't let it be temporary, like with Desert Storm,  people wore ribbons, waved the flag, made lots of speeches, but in the end, it all faded.  That must not happen this time, WE MUST NOT FORGET!

Do not let the actions of terrorist dictate your life, you must go and live it.  They want you to live in fear, to think about the what it's and maybes.  Do not hide in fear.  Raise your head, be proud of yourself.  Be proud to be an American.

One thing that has always bothered me, on the census, it asks what nationality you are, I am an American, that is how I filled it out.  My heritage is another thing, but I was born and raised American, heritage, color, religion has no bearing.  I am American, plain and simple.

Please do not take what happened out on your friends and neighbors that are Middle Eastern, Islamic, Muslim.  They were not the ones who flew the planes, they did not organize the attack. They are helping just like you and I.

Time for speeches is over.  It is time to act, for all of us.  Time to act like Americans, to show our pride, to work together. Actually, it has been well past time for all of us to realize what a great      country we live in.

Thank your local Police and Fire Fighters, don't wait for something like what happened in New York, PA, and Washington to make you realize what heroes they all are.
