Many ferrets
are permanent hospice residents of Ferrets Unlimited Rescue Services. They
are not available for adoption for many reasons. Most of them have constant
medical needs or have emotional or behavioral needs.
Some of the
ferrets that come into our program are elderly or have a disease such as an
adrenal tumors or insulinoma. Some of them are candidates for surgery;
however, others are not.
Since Ferrets
Unlimited is a no-kill rescue service, we place ferrets in foster homes
until they are adopted. If they are not adopted, they live with us for the
rest of their lives. Here, they are loved and cared for, and any medical
needs are met. Some of these veterinary costs can be quite high.
If you can’t adopt or be a foster parent, sponsoring one
of our permanent residents (or an adoptable ferret waiting for a forever
home) is a wonderful way to help out. Your contribution will help with the
cost of the vet bills and ongoing medical care for our special needs kids.
Without
sponsors like you, Ferrets Unlimited could not continue its mission of
rescuing and caring for those that cannot be adopted.
With your
sponsorship, you will receive a picture of the ferret you are helping,
email updates, and, if possible, you can meet with your sponsored ferret.
Your sponsorship donations will be designated for your ferret’s
medical care, and are tax deductible.
Because of
the generosity of sponsor parents, Ferrets Unlimited is able to help every
ferret in our program, no matter how much their medical bills are. These
beautiful ferrets deserve the same amount of love as healthy, younger, more
playful ferrets. The sad truth is that most ferrets with special needs are
not as likely to be adopted. Though they give the same amount of love and
joy, they are overlooked.
